What?
Bringing a new Grade A office building to the financial core.
Why?
To encourage continued employment and economic growth.
How?
We have been appointed by M&G Real Estate to provide external development management services to enable the delivery of a 55,000 sq ft Grade A next generation office building in their investment portfolio. Located in the Upper King Street Conservation Area, a complex demolition of an existing 1970s building and sympathetic retention of a Grade II listed façade will make way for a new 7 storey office building. Proposals include retention of the existing listed façade and entrance on Spring Gardens and reinstatement of the historic building line on Fountain Street to use and add to the lively and interesting street scenes prevalent in this part of the city centre.
Coming soon:
Ask has today confirmed that a planning application has now been submitted to Manchester City Council.
50 Fountain Street is a unique opportunity to deliver circa 55,000 sq ft of new build Grade A office accommodation in a high-profile historic location within Manchester’s traditional centre. The development, which includes the sympathetic retention of the listed façade on Spring Gardens, allows for a building of true character and identity whilst also providing next generation sustainable office space in line with the needs of the modern occupier. Reinstatement of the historic building line on Fountain Street will also add to the lively and interesting street scene.
A decision is expected towards the end of the year.
